Q: I can't connect to the WiFi network that I'm selecting
If you can see a TubiCast device within the TubiCast app, but can't connect to your TubiCast device when trying to start the setup process, try these steps.
First, make sure:
A: TubiCast is powered on and plugged into a steady power supply (5V 1A suggested).
B: The LED light on the TubiCast device is white.
C: You're using the most recent version of the TubiCast app from www.tubicast.com.
D: The TubiCast device is within 10m, without obstruction, from the mobile device or tablet you're using to set it up.
E: The WiFi name should be no more than 25 characters
If you've checked off all of the steps above and you still can't connect to the TubiCast hotspot, try one of the steps below and then try to connect. If you still can't connect, move to the next step.
Step 1. Reboot TubiCast. Unplug the TubiCast device from the power source and plug it back in.
Step 2. Force close and relaunch TubiCast app.
Step 3. Try to manually connecting to the TubiCast TubiCast SSID from your phone or tablet’s WiFi settings. Go to the WiFi settings on your mobile device.
Step 4. Open the list of available WiFi networks and look for an available network with the name “TubicastXXXX (where XXXX is a random number).
Note: If you previously set up your device and have not factory reset it since it was removed from the network, look for the name of the TubiCast device that you assigned to it in the list of available networks on your mobile device.
If you can successfully connect to the TubiCast SSID in your WiFi settings, open the TubiCast app and try setting up the device.
Advanced Troubleshooting
If you're still unable to connect, try the following.
If you're still unable to connect, try setting up TubiCast from another supported Android device.
Q: I don't see my WiFi network listed during setup
complete setup.
If it's not listed, move to the troubleshooting section below for hidden networks.
Hidden network troubleshooting
If you've checked off all of the steps above and the WiFi is still not listed, try one of the steps below and then see if it's listed. If you still can't find it, move to the next step.
Step 1: Check the SSID (network name) is hidden:
Can you see the network listed on other devices which aren’t currently connected to the network?
If no, then the SSID is broadcasting but hidden, and you'll need to enter the SSID and password manually in the TubiCast app during setup
From the WiFi setup screen, click on the “down arrow’ located to the right of the network name field
Scroll all the way down and tap “Other”
Add WiFi Information for the wireless network.
Enter WiFi network name
Enter security information from one of the following choices. (Note: if customer does not have this information, they will need to log into your router or contact your ISP to find the security settings
None/WPA/WPA2
Enter password
Tap SET NETWORK
Step 2. Reboot router
Power the router off/on (Note: most routers just require that you unplug the power source and then plug it back in to reboot)
Step 3. Reboot TubiCast
Disconnect the power cable from the TubiCast device.
Reconnect power cable back into the TubiCast device.
Step 4. Force close TubiCast application.
Step 5. When all devices have completed rebooting and you're able to access the internet, start trying to set up TubiCast.
Tap the “Network Name” to expand the drop down list of available network names and scroll down the list to identify desired WiFi name.
If your WiFi is still not listed, try the following,
Try moving closer to the WiFi router (~20 feet).
Try setting up TubiCast using a different supported Android device.
Q: I don't see my TubiCast listed in the TubiCast setup app
If you don't see your TubiCast listed after set up is complete, try these simple steps:
Make sure the smartphone or tablet you're running the TubiCast app on is connected to the same WiFi network as your TubiCast device.
Close the TubiCast app and reopen it.
Make sure the TubiCast device is plugged into a wall outlet with 5V 1A, not USB power.
Try using the HDMI extender that was included in your TubiCast box.
Reboot the WiFi router by unplugging it from the power source for ~1 minute and plugging it back in.
Reboot the TubiCast device by unplugging it from the power source for ~1 minute and plugging it back in.
Perform a factory data reset.
Q: I don't see the TubiCast screen on my TV
Make sure:
A: Your TV is tuned to the same numbered HDMI input to which you connected your TubiCast. On most remotes, this can be done with an Input, Source or Menu button. You may have to cycle through a few inputs before finding the correct one (e.g. PC, Video, VCA, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.).
B: The light on your TubiCast is illuminated or blinking, indicating power.
C: If you still do not see the TubiCast screen on your TV, try your TV's other HDMI ports.
D: If problem continues, try testing on another TV.
Q: Why did my device go back to the initial setup page?
Device will back to initial setup page in situation below:
A: Press on the reset button
B: Press disconnect on TubiCast APP
Q: What are the power supply requirements?
A stable 5V 1A power supplier is required
